Autumn 2023 Walk and Talk details ...
This autum Ditchling History Project collaborates with Ditchling Museum of Art+Craft as it marks 10 years since the reopening of the museum founded in 1985 by Hilary and Joanna Bourne.
Ditchling History project’s contribution will concentrate on Hilary's early and later life in Ditchling with a guided walk titled ‘Hilary’s Ditchling’ taking place on Sunday September 24th at 11am and 2 pm. The walk is approximately 2 miles mostly on pavements with short stretches on footpath or bridleway. It will take you back to the village where Hilary and Joanna grew up more than a century ago returning several decades later to care for their mother, save the former village school from development and create the first Ditchling Museum. The walk is free but places will be limited and booking is essential from www.ditchlingmuseumartcraft.org.uk.
The following month, the Friends of Ditchling Museum of Art & Craft host an evening talk by Ditchling History Project on Thursday October 26th at 7.00pm. ‘A Beginning and a Returning’ features both Hilary’s early life in the village and the remarkable story of the founding of the original Ditchling Museum.
The talk is in the DMAC Learning Space starting at 7.00pm with drinks from 6.30pm, free to Friends and DHP members and £5.00 for non-members. Booking essential from [email protected] or 07771715048
