Ditchling History Project - Copyright permission

Under copyright law, Ditchling History Project is unable to reproduce photographic images without permission from the copyright holder – this is usually the photographer, or his or her employer.  Copyright law states that photographic images will remain under copyright for 70 years after the death of the photographer.

Many photographs are considered ‘orphan works’ which means that the copyright holder cannot be identified or located.  In these situations the works will only be copied once we have made all reasonable efforts to identify or trace the copyright holder.

Information pertaining to this request will be retained in Ditchling History Project’s records in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
